Item: How to reset or delete students data?

By design, the application does not have a feature to delete students through the Teacher or Administrator Tool. If you choose to do so, you will need to follow these steps for each student or all students:
  1. Locate the Student Data folder and navigate to the datastore folder. For example: C:\Longman CD-ROMs - Server\datastore
  2. Create a backup of the datastore folder for recovery purposes.
  3. Open the datastore folder. You can do either a or b.
    1. To delete a specific student records:
      1. Delete the two files whose names start with the username of the student.
      2. Open the course folder. For example: C:\Longman CD-ROMs - Server\datastore\English 1 (U.S.)
      3. Delete the folder whose name is the same as the username of the student.
      4. Navigate one step deeper into the classes folder.
      5. Go through each classid_ directory and delete any files whose name is the same as the username of the student.
    2. To delete the records of all students INCLUDING classes, select all files and folders in the datastore folder and then delete. All records of students and classes will be erased.
  4. You are done.

Having issues creating or deleting classes?

If "Creating a class" or "Deleting a class" fails, it is more than likely a result of inconsistent data. To clean up any bad data, you will need to:
  1. Locate the Student Data directory
  2. Create a backup of the Student Data folder for recovery purposes.
  3. Navigate to the classes folder. For example: C:\Longman CD-ROMs - Server\datastore\English 1 (U.S.)\classes
  4. Look through each classid_# folder and make sure there is a file called classname and that its size is greater than 0 KB. If either is not the case, delete the classid_ directory and its contents.
  5. You should now be able to create or delete a class.
