Pearson Longman CD-ROMs patch
on 21 October 2016 01:48 PM

Some Affected Products:

  • Penguin Active Reading
  • Call of the Wild CD-ROM

We are aware that some of the CD-ROMs that are packaged with some of our products (titles) are not compatible with the latest Windows systems (Vista or Windows 7). These CD-ROM products all use the same launch executable file call "CD-ROM.exe". Customers sometime get error message "couldn't find library MSVCR80.dll" error message".

If you are experiencing issues, please download and install the patch (replacing launch executable file). Follow the instructions in the "Step-by-Step" PDF file. This should correct the problem and ensure smooth running of your CD-ROM.

Note: *The patch is NOT compatible with our DICTIONARY software. Please contact us directly if you have problems with a dictionary CD-ROM under Vista or Windows 7.

See below to download the patch and follow the step-by-step instructions.
