How to enable browser's Cookies?

Firefox 4.0+

Firefox features privacy settings that affect what data your computer accepts from websites. Please follow the instructions below to ensure that data from Pearson websites is not blocked.

  1. Click the menu button (Image) and choose Options.
  2. Select Privacy.
  3. Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  4. Check the box beside Accept cookies from sites.
  5. Set Accept third party cookies: to Always.
  6. Select Exceptions....

  7. In the Address of website: field, type the following addresses, selecting Allow after each one:
    pearson.com
    pearsoned.com
    pearsoncmg.com
    mathxl.com (if your course includes XL features)
    myitlab.com (if you use MyITLab)
    ecollege.com (if you use a new design, MyLabsPlus, or LearningStudio course)

    Note: For a complete list of domains that may be used by a specific course or product, please seeAnswer 8964

  8. After adding those sites, click Close.

  9. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes will automatically be saved.

Chrome 12+

Chrome features privacy settings that affect what data your computer accepts from websites. Please follow the instructions below to be sure that data from Pearson websites is not blocked.

Note: If you are using Chrome on a mobile device, see Answer 13311.

  1. Open Google Chrome and click the Chrome menu (Image), or in older versions, the wrench icon (wrench icon).

  2. In Windows: Click Settings (or in older versions, Options)
    In Mac OS X: Click Preferences...
  3. Scroll down to the Privacy heading (you may need to click Show advanced settings..., or in older versions, Under the Hood)
  4. In the Privacy section, click Content settings...

  5. In the Cookies section, un-check the box next to "Block third-party cookies and site data", then clickManage exceptions...

  6. In the text boxes under "Hostname pattern," type the domains listed below exactly as they appear, pressing Enter after each one:
    [*.]pearson.com
    [*.]pearsoned.com
    [*.]pearsoncmg.com
    [*.]mathxl.com (if your course includes XL features)
    [*.]myitlab.com (if you use MyITLab)
    [*.]ecollege.com (if you use a new design, MyLabsPlus, or LearningStudio course)

  7. Click OK
  8. Click the "x" to the right of the Settings - Content Settings tab to close it

Internet Explorer 8+

Internet Explorer features privacy settings that affect what data your computer accepts from web sites. Please follow the instructions below to be sure that data from Pearson web sites is not blocked:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools (if you do not see Tools, press the Alt key to show the menu bar)

  2. Click Internet Options
  3. In the Internet Options window, click the Privacy tab

  4. Click the Sites button to open the Per Site Privacy Actions window
  5. Where it says "Address of website" type the following addresses, clicking Allow after each one:
    pearson.com
    pearsoned.com
    pearsoncmg.com
    mathxl.com (if your course includes XL features)
    myitlab.com (if you use MyITLab)
    ecollege.com (if you use a new design, MyLabsPlus, or LearningStudio course)

    Note: For a complete list of domains that may be used by a specific course or product, please seeAnswer 8964.

  6. After allowing those sites, click OK
  7. In the Internet Options window, click OK

Safari 4+

Safari features privacy settings that affect what data your computer accepts from websites. Please follow the instructions below to ensure that data from Pearson websites is not blocked:

 

Note: For help accepting cookies in Safari on an iPhone or iPad, see Answer 10975.

 

Note: If you do not wish to allow all cookies, you can add the sites from which you choose to accept cookies to the Top Sites list. For instructions, see Answer 10120.

  1. Open Safari
  2. Click Safari > Preferences

In Safari 8 or 9:

  1. In the window that opens, click Privacy

  2. Look for the Cookies and website data heading and select Always allow

    Note: If you do not wish to set Cookies and website data to Always allow, you can make the domains used by Pearson websites Top Sites to allow cookies only from those addresses. For instructions, please see Answer 10120.

  3. Close the Privacy window

In Safari versions 5.1 through 7:

  1. In the window that opens, click Privacy

  2. Look for the Block cookies heading and select Never

    Note: If you do not wish to set Block cookies to Never, you can make the domains used by Pearson websites Top Sites to allow cookies only from those addresses. For instructions, please see Answer 10120.

  3. Close the Privacy window



In Safari 5.0 or earlier:

  1. In the window that opens, click Security

  2. Look for the Accept cookies heading and select Always

    Note: If you do not wish to set Accept cookies to Always, you can make the domains used by Pearson websites Top Sites to allow cookies only from those addresses. For instructions, please see Answer 10120.

  3. Close the Security window
